In my case, I needed help getting back into my Instagram account. I was locked out on my new phone and wanted to reset my password, but it would only send the verification to the old phone that I originally used to set up my account. The problem is that my old phone was lost, and I had a replacement phone. Therefore, completing the dual-factor identification request was impossible; I was just stuck in a vicious circle. This is the type of situation where it seems smart to talk to a person, but that didn't seem to be an option.
When you call this number, it immediately tells you that you have reached Meta, but for any support with any of their products, visit meta.com/help. They also tell you that there is no telephone support and there is no live customer support. That was not useful, so I went online and looked for another phone number that I could use to call Instagram.
The only phone number I could find was 650-308-7300. It led to the exact same support line, and I received the same recorded message: I had reached Meta, but they do not have live customer support at this time.
While searching for a phone number, I read a hack that explained that if you shake your phone while using Instagram, you can report a bug. However, this also did not work for me. One, I cannot log into Instagram, so this hack is a bit irrelevant to my problem. Second, even once you report the bug, it does not connect you to a live person. That leaves the forums as the only place I can turn to for help, but as noted, I have not had any success there yet. Until I can find a new number to try, it looks like I am out of luck.
