How Do I Transfer Money Online Using Acorns?

Acorns users can transfer money from their Acorns Spend account without any penalties. Acorns don't allow users to move money through mobile payment apps. However, users can transfer money to their Spend account from their PayPal wallet and other platform approved by Acorns.

Transfer Money to an External Primary Checking Account

You can transfer money from your Acorns Spend account to your primary checking account without being charged any fees or penalties. You can also transfer money to your Acorns Spend account from your PayPal wallet.

The Steps

  1. Log into your Acorns account and tap "Spend Smarter."
  2. Select the "Transfer" button after tapping the "Spend Smarter" tab.
  3. Enter the amount of money you'd like to transfer from your Spend account.
  4. You will need to select your linked checking account for transfer and select "transfer."

These steps will start the transfer process from your Spend account to an external account. You can transfer funds at any time, without penalty, to your external checking account. Zelle can be used with Acorns but funds must be transferred via the Zelle app.

Zelle and Acorns

Zelle can be used with Acorns but you will need to take additional steps to make transfers. You will need to start by downloading the Zelle app. However, you will not be able to use the same email and phone number connected to another bank with your Zelle app. Use a different email address and phone number to use Zelle with Acorns. The email and phone number can't be attached to an external bank.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Acorns Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
