What should I do if my power goes out?

Asked 6 months ago
If your power goes out, first check to see if your neighbors have also lost power. If they have, report the outage to CPS Energy. Make sure to unplug all major appliances and electronics to prevent damage from power surges when the power is restored. Use flashlights, not candles, for lighting and keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed to maintain the cold temperature. Stay clear of downed power lines and avoid using generators indoors. Stay informed by checking CPS Energy's website or social media channels for updates on the outage and estimated restoration times.
