How long does it take to receive a refund after filing my state tax return?

Asked 6 months ago
The length of time it takes to receive a refund after filing your state tax return varies. Generally, if you filed your return electronically and requested direct deposit, you may receive your refund within 8 to 12 business days. However, if you filed a paper return or requested a paper refund check, it can take up to 8 to 12 weeks to receive your refund. These time frames are estimates and may be subject to change during peak tax season. To check the status of your refund, you can use the "Where's My Refund?" tool on the Utah State Tax Commission website. Please note that this tool is updated once a week and is only available after 45 days from the date the return was filed.
