Over the past several months, our home phone has become unusable much of the time. It has a roar that reoccurs regularly. A tech “fixes” it* but it doesn’t last. Some of technicians say it is an infrastructure problem that AT&T won’t fix because of the cost. I have continued to pay the full bill and are getting only a fraction of the service. The call waiting caller ID hasn’t worked for years. I was told by an AT&T tech that I needed a new phone which I bought, but it still doesn’t work, but I still pay for it. I need someone to tell me if the phone line can be and will be repaired or not. I will not be satisfied for it to work for a few days and be right back to the roaring. I would like to keep my landline, but there is no need to unless the service becomes more reliable. If not, I am prepared to cut off my landline and my DirecTV and file a complaint with the FCC and the BBB.
