Each time I contact the warranty department regarding problems with my new home, I struggle to get a resolution. Currently, I have a plumbing issue and after finally getting in touch with someone, the plumber left my toilet off the hinges, sitting in my bathroom. Despite promises from the DR Horton representative to call me back, I have not received any follow-up. I am frustrated and upset with the lack of response. I plan to seek legal advice on Monday regarding a potential lawsuit against the company. The plumber mentioned that several houses in the Jubilee subdivision faced similar issues, making me wonder why assistance is lacking for me.

I noticed some issues with my new refrigerator after installation. There are scratches on the side. I informed the Construction Manager verbally about it two weeks ago. Also, there is a lighting short in the fixture above the mirror in the master bathroom as the light flickers. The gasket seal around the water fixture on the right side sink faucet is showing black. Additionally, the garage floor was not cleaned properly. There are chunks of mud and spackle left on the garage floor, and the basement floor still has mud and adhesive on it.

I constructed a home with Westport in Fort Wayne back in [redacted]. Unfortunately, there have been numerous unresolved issues with the house that were reported within the first year. Despite my multiple attempts to address these problems by emailing the Fort Wayne office, I have been consistently dismissed, ignored, experienced lost paperwork, and had incomplete repairs. It has been an ongoing struggle, and I have now reached a point where my patience has worn thin after maintaining a polite tone for two years. This is my second Westport home, with my first experience being excellent and hassle-free. However, my latest purchase, which was pricier, has been plagued with issues since the beginning. I am seeking a resolution for various issues such as the furnace, plumbing, siding, breaker box leaks, flooring gaps, warped cabinets, paint problems, drainage issues, and more. Despite my efforts to address these concerns through standard procedures, it seems impossible to get them fixed promptly. I have been in contact with Morgan Willhite at the Fort Wayne office, who initially ignored my emails for two weeks but later apologized for the delay and claimed to be scheduling contractors. However, no substantial progress has been made since November, with instances of lost punch lists requiring repeat visits. The situation has become frustrating, and I hope for a swift resolution to these ongoing problems.

I am scheduled to close on a new DR Horton home in a few days. There are slight structural repairs that need to be completed, and the sellers have mentioned that DR Horton should handle it as it seems to be a common issue in the neighborhood. However, nothing from the walk-through has been provided to me in writing; it's all verbal. I want to ensure everything is documented for peace of mind. The sellers don’t seem to be meeting this request. I need all discrepancies noted during the walk-through to be included in the list of items needing correction.

I'm a 78-year-old resident living at [redacted] Roman Dr., Princeton, TX, and have concerning black mold issues in my home. The musty smell and constant dampness on the tile floors are worrying. Mold has spread to the AC vents, and despite recently resealing the windows due to excessive rain entry, the problem persists. I fear for the health hazards this mold infestation may pose and feel helpless as my insurance does not cover it. My neighbors, including those across the street, seem to face similar problems. Considering the severity, I contemplate reaching out to the local newspapers or TV stations for potential assistance with this pressing matter.

Hello, I have been dealing with mold issues in my home for about two years now due to a roof leak that your team identified but has not fixed. Multiple attempts to replace faulty windows with seal failure have also been unsuccessful despite numerous appointments and no-shows. This situation has caused significant inconvenience as I have had to wait for a total of 11 appointments, amounting to approximately 40 hours, without a resolution in sight. The persistent problems have now led me to consider involving legal assistance and reporting D.R. Horton Home Builders to the Better Business Bureau. I have a disabled Veteran son living with me who is showing health symptoms possibly related to the mold presence. I have been patient and cooperative, but the lack of action has left me with no choice but to seek further help. I urge for a proper resolution to address these ongoing issues for the well-being and peace of mind of my family. Regards, G.H. [redacted] [redacted] Riverfront Punta Gorda, FL

Dear Customer Service Team, I am contacting you today with deep concern regarding the challenging experience my family and I are facing while purchasing a new home with Dr. Horton. From the beginning, our interactions with the loan originator have been confusing. Although we have since clarified some important details, we continue to encounter unexpected surprises. The issue seems to stem from misinformation rather than unforeseen circumstances. Without actively seeking updates on the closing timeline, we would have remained unaware of the delays. As buyers, we rely on DR Horton, as the seller, to keep us informed about our home's progress. Only after inquiring did we learn that the potential closing date may now be August 16th, due to material delays related to the ongoing pandemic. The process of moving demands careful planning, time, and financial resources. What initially seemed like a potential closing by the end of June prompted us to notify our current leasing administration to avoid penalties and organize our relocation to St. Cloud. However, the new closing date has thrown our plans into disarray, necessitating unexpected expenses for rent, storage, and other arrangements. We recognize the global challenges posed by the pandemic, but given the prolonged nature of the situation, we are puzzled by DR Horton's lack of proactive communication regarding delays in construction progress. The sale and purchase of a home require meticulous attention to detail, and the absence of timely and transparent updates only serves to complicate an already significant life event for our family. Sincerely, Oriana M and Angela Valdivieso

I reside at Tyler Loop Cove in Pinson, AL. I am facing a persistent issue with standing water in approximately one-third of my yard. The drainage problem is exacerbated by the discharge of reddish-orange liquid from the French drains, causing unsightly stains on the sidewalk. Despite being documented by DR Horton for over a decade, the problem remains unresolved. Following my communication with Adam Cowan on 7/13/[redacted], where a landscaper's visit failed to rectify the issue, I have not received further assistance or a follow-up. This ongoing waterlogging issue not only makes it impossible to maintain the lawn but also hinders any attempt to sell the property. It is crucial to address this issue promptly and effectively rather than disregarding it. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Bonnie Stacey at [redacted] Prescott Lane, Pinson, AL [redacted].

Hello, I am Andrew Rabinovich and my wife Mariana and I entered into a construction contract with DR Horton at Toscana Isles in Venice, Florida on 07/08/[redacted]. The closing date of 02/08/[redacted] has passed, and our house is far from being completed. Despite other houses starting after ours being closer to completion, no progress has been made on our home. We recently learned that the original builder is no longer with DR Horton, although a new builder has taken over with minimal progress. The swimming pool is also untouched. As senior citizens on a fixed income, we are struggling due to high month-to-month rent after our previous rental contract expired in February. Communication has been lacking, with our last contact with sales agent Ellen Sackett on 02/25/[redacted]. We are feeling desperate and uncertain about the situation. While we understand the current challenges with the pandemic, supply chain issues, and labor shortages, we are left wondering why our home is not progressing while others are. We seek clarity and support in this stressful situation. Sincerely, Andrew W. Rabinovich

After being assured that all repairs would be completed prior to closing, it has been over six months since we moved in and many repairs remain unfinished. Despite promises from site supervisors, the repairs are still pending. I have documented everything on video and wish for a resolution as agreed before purchase. I fear escalating this issue through the BBB and want to see my neighborhood thrive without negative feedback. Please assist me in resolving this matter promptly. As a disabled veteran, this home was meant to be our dream, not a source of stress. I kindly request an update on this situation. Thank you.

After the walkthrough inspection with the on-site Supervisor at Dr. Horton before closing, it was agreed that necessary repairs and replacements would be handled. However, due to material shortages related to COVID, some repairs were not completed as promised, particularly regarding the windows and doors with deep grooves. Despite assurances, over 6 months have passed, and the repairs remain outstanding. Despite being informed by the Project Manager that these repairs would be addressed, they have not been resolved. As a Veteran with a VA loan and [redacted]% disability, the experience has caused additional emotional distress. Even though inspectors confirmed the issues, Dr. Horton has chosen not to follow through on the repairs, citing material shortages. Seeking assistance beyond the local level is needed to address this ongoing issue, as I have documented evidence to support my claims.

I am requesting repair or replacement of windows with over 2-inch scratches as per Dr. Horton guidelines. Additionally, I need a new sliding glass door due to more than 20 severe scratches, some over six inches long, along with a dented metal plate. The front door glass has a severe scratch over 4 inches. I have video evidence of these issues from before the closing, and it was promised they would be fixed during the walkthrough. Despite inspection reports and promises from the window and door companies, the repairs have not been completed. I urge prompt action to rectify these outstanding issues.

I need assistance with an issue regarding the fence around my new home built by Dr. Horton in Princeton, TX, at [redacted] Honey Mapple St. The front, left, and right sides have a new fence, but the back has an old, joined fence. I have attached photos for reference. I had a similar problem in my current Houston home built by Dr. Horton in [redacted], which was resolved by them. I am requesting the fence to be fixed as it is not acceptable for a new house to have an old fence. The type of fence construction should be "face on, face off" for future maintenance clarity. As a loyal customer of Dr. Horton, I am reaching out for assistance in resolving this matter promptly. Thank you for your attention. Boris Bass
