I am trying to get my account credited for *) $**.** (cost * tax) that I was billed for the preparation of a State Return though my state, Tennessee, does not charge nor require a return for state payroll taxes* and *) $**.** for the Self-Employment Form charged me due to the fact that TaxAct required mid-stream that I convert to this form after signing on to what was advertised as a Free Filin... ... Our return is a relatively simple one: no itemized deductions & pretty much just posting our income. Two questions:**) May I simply file via the normal free online return that I initially entered the site on (& have used with several past returns . . . . I did agree to pay the $**.** to import last year’s return info), and**) I don’t feel that I should have to pay the State Tax Prep fee when my state, Tennessee, does not collect state income taxes and, therefore, there is no need to file a State Return.**Thank you.
Not sure they could have known that some states don't require income tax returns. Don't know if the conversion to the required Self-Employment fee has been thought through when selling that we can file for free.
Credit my account asap, please!
I have used TaxAct's services for several years consecutively for both our's and our daughter's return preparation processes, always to a very satisfied completion.
Have communicated in detail with the Get Human email site.
