On flight VS *** from London to Boston on Tuesday, August **, I had seat No **C in the Premium Economy class. I was the only black person in the entire row of this section of the flight, all the others being white with the exception of one apparent South Asian who had the window seat by my side. For the in-flight main meal, I was completely passed over by the male serving steward, the only person who was thus treated by the steward.. This was doubly troubling and disrespectful because this steward had in fact assisted me in pulling out the collapsible food and drinks tray from the arm of my seat. After doing this, he walked away without serving me my meal. After he had gone about three rows down the section, I drew his attention to the fact that he had bypassed me. He gave no apologies, no explanation and simply asked me, "what meal do you want?" I was so shaken by his behavior that I asked to speak to the purser. The purser or manager, named Harry, came and he too, surprisingly ignored and downplayed my shock and outrage, his one concern being only to serve me my meal. Seeing and hearing these unprofessional and uncaring actions and words of these two men, I refused to eat and asked to be given a form in which to write and file a complaint to the airline itself. Harry, the manager, stated that he had no form, no document on board through which I could file a complaint. However, not long after this, I saw this same Harry give a family of passengers in the two rows before mine a form which they filled out and gave to Harry.**I have no doubt in my mind that this incident was racially motivated. And I believe that without my reporting it this incident - and others like it - may never be reported by managers like Harry for correction. Most of all, I was deeply offended by this occurrence, both in itself and in the thought that such incidents, no matter how rare they may be on Virgin Atlantic flights, are barely ever reported.**Biodun Jeyifo*Flying Club Number: **********
