Calling this Craigslist Customer Number

Oct 16, 2023

Calling this number really isn't helpful for customer service, as this phone number is meant to be used to reach Craigslist's corporate offices. The automated system doesn't offer any actual help for people who have put out postings; it simply tells them what they can do in another method to get assistance.

When I called, I was told that if I was calling about a free posting, I could go onto Craigslist's website and look for their basic FAQs as to what I needed to do to fix the post. For other inquiries, such as law enforcement, media inquiries and paid postings, I could select one of the choices from the menu.

I decided to see what would happen if I chose a paid posting, and the system offered no way to get in contact with anyone. Instead, I was told that if I had an issue with a paid posting, I could contact Craigslist via e-mail and would need to include the information about the post in the e-mail.

After providing me with the e-mail address, the system simply stopped dead with no further information. There was no chance to get transferred to a human, no suggestion on another number to call for assistance, no chance to return to a previous menu, nothing. The only thing I could do at that point was hang up.

A check online reveals that this number is meant to be used for billing or other inquiries regarding the company, but it isn't really meant for customer service. If you do need customer service, it's suggested that you either e-mail them or try calling them on this number: (415) 566-6394.

Otherwise, this number really isn't helpful for trying to get your problems solved at Craigslist. They do offer a mention of both free and paid services and how someone could get some help with one of those services using either their online help page or via e-mail, so that's better than nothing. But if someone's looking for assistance right away, this phone number really isn't very helpful for that endeavor.

If you have a billing question or a media inquiry, this number might be useful for resolving that. But for everyone else, calling this number isn't going to yield any new information unless you don't know how to reach Craigslist's FAQ page or e-mail address. Because of this, I would not recommend using this number for anything besides billing questions.

GetHuman does not provide call center services or customer support operations for Craigslist. The two organizations are not related. GetHuman builds free tools and shares information to help customers of companies like Craigslist. For large companies that includes tools such as our GetHuman Phone, which allows you to call a company but skip the part where you wait on the line to get a live human rep. We continue to work on these tools to help customers like you (and ourselves!) navigate the messy phone menus, hold times, and confusion with customer service. As long as you keep sharing it with your friends and loved ones, we'll keep doing it.
